My Story
Hello! My name is Sierrah (she/her), and I am a registered social worker (RSW) and a Master of Social Work Intern at Wilfrid Laurier University completing my practicum with Bold Lotus Trauma Therapy. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree with distinction from King's University College and was honoured to be named to the Dean's Honour List throughout my undergraduate studies.
My approach to practice is rooted in trauma-informed and strengths-based principles. I believe healing happens within safe, authentic relationships where people feel seen, heard, and empowered to explore their experiences without judgment. I strive to create a compassionate and collaborative space where individuals can build self-understanding, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with their own resilience.
My professional experience includes supporting children, youth, families, and post-secondary students in both community and educational settings. Most recently, I completed a practicum within Counselling & Accessibility Services at Fanshawe College, where I supported students through peer mentorship, facilitated drop-in spaces, contributed to psychoeducational initiatives, and participated in harm reduction programming. I have also worked in summer camps and school-age programs, supporting children and families across diverse needs and backgrounds. In addition, I have volunteered on both the Canadian Mental Health Association support line and the Anova crisis line, where I provided supportive listening, emotional support, and resource navigation to individuals navigating a range of challenges. These experiences strengthened my passion for working with individuals experiencing trauma, life transitions, relational difficulties, and challenges related to self-worth and emotional well-being.
As a clinician in training, I am committed to ongoing learning and approaching each client with curiosity, humility, and respect for the unique experiences that shape their lives.
Outside of my professional role, I enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking with my dog, connecting with friends and family, painting, singing and songwriting, and trying new hobbies such as crocheting and baking.
