My Story

Hello! My name is Hannah Williams and I graduated from Western University with my Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2020. After graduating I worked for 3 years in the addiction/mental health field prior to returning to school this past September to complete my Master of Social Work graduate degree.

I’m currently certified in Motivational Interviewing, and utilize a trauma informed, strengths based, and client-centered approach in my practice. I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, and aim to provide a safe space for all people regardless of their gender identity, race, sexual orientation or religion. My goal is to create an environment in which people feel comfortable being vulnerable and connecting with their feelings. I enjoy providing psycho-education re: cognitive distortions, attachment styles, harm reduction, and coping mechanisms, as well as engaging in reflective questioning and thought.

I believe we all have a collective responsibility to create a more socially just and equitable society, and I do my best to promote this in my practice by guiding people to identify and connect with their emotions, develop healthy communication skills, and develop an understanding of their core values, ethics, and morals.

Aside from my work I enjoy spending time outdoors, playing board games with friends, hanging out with my partner and our 4 cats, and listening to (almost) all genres of music. Connecting with nature and engaging in activities that promote creative thought ‘fills my cup’.

Favourite quote:  “Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren't always comfortable, but they're never weakness.” – Brené Brown.

I would love to connect and see if I would be a good fit as your therapist!

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

We acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Attawandaron, Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, and Lunaapeewak peoples who have longstanding relationships to the land, water and region of southwestern Ontario. The local First Nation communities of this area include Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, Oneida Nation of the Thames, and Munsee-Delaware Nation. Additionally,  there is a growing urban Indigenous population who make the City of London home. We value the significant historical and contemporary contributions of local and regional First Nations of Turtle Island (North America).
