My Story

I am a registered social worker (RSW), holding an Honours Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Wilfrid Laurier University. I am currently pursuing a Master’s of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University. I have over three years of experience in the field of Social Work including working with individuals experiencing homelessness, within a school setting, child welfare and clinical therapy. I have received specialized training in areas of attachment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and brief solution focused therapeutic modalities.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and empowerment. I strive to create a safe and inclusive space where clients of all ages, genders, and backgrounds feel heard and respected. I work primarily with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, and concerns connected to attachment and relationships. I recognize that people who have multifaceted identities do not belong to a single category of identity, but rather multiple, intersecting ones and it becomes important to understand and reflect on all aspects of oneself.

Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time being creative and making functional pieces of pottery out of clay. My cottage is my favourite, a place where I can unwind, connect with nature, and rejuvenate. Additionally, I have a passion for traveling to new countries, which allows me to experience diverse cultures, cuisines, and landscapes, broadening my perspective of the world.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

We acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Attawandaron, Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, and Lunaapeewak peoples who have longstanding relationships to the land, water and region of southwestern Ontario. The local First Nation communities of this area include Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, Oneida Nation of the Thames, and Munsee-Delaware Nation. Additionally,  there is a growing urban Indigenous population who make the City of London home. We value the significant historical and contemporary contributions of local and regional First Nations of Turtle Island (North America).
